See Jane Run....

Just a short note today!! I spent my day getting some groceries, putting them away and trying to decide what pattern I want to use with my American Jane fabric that I recently received. I discovered a hand quilting that I had found on You Tube in the Spring of 2011. I had a keen interest then too in the fabric and getting it that special look that can go with it. I put together just layer cakes last week and put a simple 3 colored border on it. I am going down to my studio soon to load that up....I will add the picture later. But I really want to mention a blog I also recently was blessed to find. http://www.diaryofaquilter.com/ is just too sweet. I love the quilting group I am sure oohing and ahing over the quilts on display by the quilters. Please take a minute and catch her blog. It is sweet. Quilted Blessings......Kari......see Jane Run! yes, my Dear Jane is spread on my hardwoods.....it is large! am going to Love It, don't you think?

Bloomington to Plymouth.....

Life is full of twists and turns!! We traveled to work in Virginia for 6 months and then in Bloomington for 6 months. While in Bloomington we enjoyed living close to our son and his family. But, our cabin lost its' renters and so we moved North to settle back into the walls of the cabin that we built. Maybe, we just needed time away from it so we could come back and claim it. So, we are here now. All our kids and families came to our sons' town before we moved north and we had a good time in our little rental home there!!!
We spent a few months moving back into our cabin, including my quilt shop. My hub is working on a plane in the shop and now has an Intellicarver that we hope he will be able to perfect his work to combine with my quilting for our retirement.
When your mind stays in the Imaginary right side you will never have to worry about drifting over into the left side where you encounter more old memories than dreams of the future! Just some brain trivia for those over 60!! Call me if you need any help with your quilting or write me at ksflick@gmail.com! Quilted Blessings!!! Karen

Have Move...Will Quilt!

We have now moved from Indiana to Virginia. My husband is the best man ever! We moved in over 100 degree heat there and then in Virginia. He just kept at it, never complaining. He set up my longarm over the first weekend we were moving in. We only have room for her "suziebell" in our living room in the sweet retro type 50's home we are renting for now. My goal this week is to get one of the tops I made last fall in the RV while in Vermont LOADED and quilted. I will show you the evidence that it really is set up! Quilted Blessings!! Kari

Cowboy Heavenly Babe

What a pure bundle of JOY!! Our Cowboy quilt made it to the doorstep of some sweet friends of our sons' in Russia...we thought he might need a little Cowboy Dreams in the St Petersburg landscape. Our friend is saying that getting a quilt in Russia is just a real special treat and does not happen that often, so that makes this little babes journey even more unique. He already has a Russian Mama that is beautiful inside and out and he has a American Papa that is remarkable in so many ways, and now a great father too. So, we jumped up and down today when we saw the babe enjoying our creation. It could not have come on a better day, as we are still looking for nursing positions here in Indiana....a hard nut to crack this time! God is so very good though....our Joy..... God bless little Cowboy Babe! Quilted Love, for sure, Kari
